If  you   discover   the Y  haplotype  for different  branches of  the Lauermann  (Lauerman) family trees, you can compare the results  with each other. You can discover,

that two  separate branches  ( or two so far unknown  people) have the same genetic ancestor in spite of the fact, that it has  not  been  proved  in the birth record,

because of  the  absence of recorded data.

Of course,  this is only true providing that each mother has her male offspring as a  continuation of her family  only with her legitimate husband.  Owing to conjugal  i

nfidelity  or circumstances of reproduction In  time of war in the  history of central Europe,  such Y chromosomal comparisons may not be so clear or valid.

The basic DNA test for the Y haplotype (only for males) for 12 markers cost over 100 $.  This test reveals the  relationship  of 1000 year ago; and you can get it for

example on -  www.familytreedna.com   or   on www.dnaheritage.com .  This result  also indicates   the type of your haplogroup which  means that you will know the

part of the planet,  from where your ancestor came . More information is available at  www.isogg.org .

Results of your DNA test  can  be compared  on the web pages   www.ysearch.org www.ybase.org , www.smgf.org  . Mostly you will find, that your “relatives” who

have the same value for the 12 markers as you have, will have a different surname. Stabilization of surnames – in the Bohemia region - was between The 14-18 centuries.

But if you are genetically  related with someone, you must have 100% matches with this test, the only  exception being very  rare mutations of markers. If you want be

more sure about results of DNA searching, you can order a  larger test for 35 markers , and this test  will reveal the relationship  of less than 500 year ago. At that time,

birth records were in use ; and in the case of 100% matching of this test, you can find relatives with the same surname.

It is also possible to do a test for more than 70 markers – more information is available at  www.yhrd.org

In spite of any cost and difficulties, I think that DNA searching is an important part of genealogy searching.  It could help you to draw your attention to a way to do

future family research.

The following DNA results are shown with the agreement  of their owners named Lauermann.

Jihlava Family tree -   values from   man A, test for 35 markers from Genomac and Genebaze (CZ)

We can say that family tree from Praha, Bělá pod Bezdězem, Jihlava  and  Kayserwald 1,2  has a common genetic ancestor. His descendats lived in Bohemia at area Litoměřice and Šluknov.

Branches from Červená Řečice and Lednické Rovné have a  common genetic ancestor.

Plzeň  has  its own  ancestor - because of different haplogroup.

Which values of the markers do you have?  With whom are you related?

I am  interested in the  results of your DNA searching concerning all Lauermann (Lauerman) family trees including results  of already tested ones. I would like to make comparisons between  other foreign Lauermans  and our Czech  branches to find possibilities of  relationship.
